About Me

Greetings!
My name is Carlos André da Silva Müller, and I am a Professor with a PhD in Applied Economics at the Federal University of Rondônia, where I teach and conduct research on topics related to the Amazonian environment. Indeed, I have always prioritised academic discussions focused primarily on economic development, with an emphasis on sustainability, considering both environmental and social dimensions.

Today, the market economy is central to the prosperity of societies, even though it undeniably produces significant harm. Throughout my personal and academic journey, I have come to believe that the changes needed for a more equitable and environmentally responsible society will emerge from within — reforms to the market economy will be endogenous, and technology will play a central role. However, the direction that technology will take — whether towards general well-being or the widening of social, regional, and global inequalities — will depend on certain conditions. I intend to explore and discuss them.
To those who happen to visit this space, I hope you find something of interest. I’ll do my best.

Warm regards.
